$20 says you come back within a few weeks saying "fml... i spoke too soon"

(most who have said..."still on orig tranny" unfortunately put like a curse on themselves, and their shit dies within weeks of them saying that)

180k miles
original transmission also, though it has been slipping a bit going into 2nd gear. but it has been doing this for like 70000 miles so I don't know for sure what it is. at this point I am just going to keep on driving it as is because everything else works perfectly

I just got my 99 TL-P a week ago. It has 244k and need brakes, some body work, don't know too much about the car. It has a small hesitation between 2-3 shift when cold but other than that, she feels good. The girl I got it from was clueless about maintenance.

Just hit 150K this morning, knock on wood, still on org. eingine & tranny, engine oil every 10K, tranny fluid every 20K change. Somehow after seafoam through PVC, the gas mileage goes down to 25MPG on Hwy??? Do you think replacing the spark plugs would help to gain the MPG?

REV are they original spark plugs? seafoam should not reduce the mileage at all and also I have not noticed that it raised it, just a great maintenance tool.

replace them if the plugs were old to begin with. correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure running seafoam through an engine with old/bad spark plugs could foul them up. I would reset the ECU and let the engine re-learn everything before going out and buying new plugs. You can do this by either taking out the negative battery terminal or taking out the clock back-up fuse on the passenger side circuits.

going back to the OP... i'm now at 232,000 miles on the origional engine & transmission on my 02 TL-P. tranny slips a little on the hills though.

Thanks guys... the plugs were replaced 50K miles ago, when I did the Seafoam last time, check engine light was on for a short while. I guess I'll try to reset the ECU since I haven't done it. Your 232K miles not bad on org eng & tranny. I retired my 97 Accord 4Cyc w/ 287K miles on org eng & tranny, couldn't pass smog in Cali here... Hope this TL would go beyond that...

Many Miles

I have 227,777 on mine. I've had it for about two years (159k on it when I got it) and got a rebuilt tranny last year, the previous owner got it replaced back in 2005, still has the original engine, my CD player won't let go of the CD's every blue moon and on rare occasions, my navi disc acts up (need the updated version - just haven't gotten around to it), but I just take the disc out and put it back in and it's good to go. Getting the timing belt, tune up done next week. I keep up pretty good with the maintenance, so I haven't had any serious issues. Given the mileage, I think it's pretty good.

185k on my 02 TL-S. I've done all the normal maintenance except the engine mounts. Some issues with water getting into places it shouldnt (i.e. headlight ballasts, taillight foam seals) But with some work i've fixed all of them. Oh yeah forgot to mention orginal trans. No real issues with it (crossing my fingers), flushed the fluided couple times thus far.

Within the next few days I'll be hitting 150k, 99 TL-P. Still Original Trans(Shifts smooth) n Engine. She is showing signs of aging, Cracking seats, paint wearing, headlight going out while driving. Still running strong, getting 21-25 Mpg. Sadly some herp-a-derp backed into her one day and now I got a nasty dent in my trunk and scratches. Worst off I don't know who did it.

Running on 2nd trans since replaced under recall at 16k miles. Also timing belt/water pump @ 115k. Other than that, tires/brakes/oil changes/fluids and just today, headlights LOL.

Still love my car! Bring on 200k!

161,000 miles. Original tranny

Radio sucks
lotsa clankin in front suspention
but other than that no real problems except a studder here and there that I can't figure out.

I drive the car kinda hard (as it is my "fun" car)

I wish I knew how much longer she will go because I would like to add an exhaust and intake but do not want to waste money if the car is just gonna die.

For everyone who is running into some jerking or hardshifting issues try cleaning the transmission oil screen as alot has stated that its resolved there issues. It also depends on how bad the tranny is as well. For me it didnt do anything! Also make sure to use Acura Tranny fluid. Ive noticed as well as read that the trannys dont like any other fluids.

Here's a link to the screen cleaning process:
