Post Who's gotten pulled over?

Has anyone been pulled over for having their aftermarket exhausts (for being loud)? I'm guessing Comptech's are quiet enough, right?? How about any of you Greddy/ Tanabe ppl? Input/feedbacks appreciated.

Yes, police are strait on loud exhuasts. In toronto, police hates 5-Zigen fireball very much, since they are so freaking loud. I think same as tanabe and greddy. Well, police can even catch you if you have any modification on your car.

Comptechs are so quiet a police opfficer will not be able to tell the difference by listening to them. Unless they are Shoof or Mike of course.

I haven't gotten pulled over for just my exhaust being too loud and I have one of the loudest one on the market, Tanabe, but I have added a resonator to it which decreases the sound a little. There are too many fart-cans civics and integras in the Bay Area, the cops will pull them over first rather than me!

Yo Don in a scale of 1-10 what do you give for loudest on your tanabe exhaust, and who did you get the exhaust from and how much$$? saw your pic, very nice! I'm thinking either Greddy or Tanabe, sorry comptech just too quiet. Police in Florida doesn't give a crap about exhaust noise.

Tat: Before I added a resonator to my exhaust I would give it a 9, dude it was REALLY LOUD, it would give me a headache after driving an hour to school! Now it's much better, I give it a 6, sounds aggressive enough to be heard yet not too loud. I got them through Tim right here, click on parts on the left column, i think it's $699. If you are not going to add a resonator I suggest you look into Greddy or Apexi WS cause those are not as loud. Oh yeah, be prepared to take it to a muffler shop and have them extend the exhaust a little, cause it's made for an accord coupe and the exhaust will be a little short.

Edub, I was at the a stop light against a stock civic si with altezza lights. It was about 9pm so it was dark, the light turns green and he takes off, i keep up in SS just to get power so i could take off on him. we reight next to each otehr and we pull away from the pack of cars. behind the civic is a motorcyle, i think"hey its 9pm it shouldn't be a cop". i don't gun it but were obviously over the speed limit.. a few seconds later ... red and blue lights come on. mind you the cop was in my blind spot. i am slammed, with wheels and the civic was stock with an exhaust ... so go figure...

Here in H-town not many people ever get pulled over for loud exhaust -- at least none of my friends do. I know this is OT, but I have an old Camaro with headers and flows and it is loud as a mutha (like, couldn't talk to a passenger going at 2500 RPM) and I never got pulled over for it once -- I guess H-town police don't care too much.

LOL, some TLs won't get looked at.. but I think yours would. Did you ever change that rear license plate yet?? You're gonna get it one of these days from a dick CHP!

I know what you mean though.. I was speeding at 80 the other day and passed a cop, either he was too lazy to go after me or he didn't notice.. dunno.. but cool for me.

I got pulled over "just for driving TL". Mofo NJ state trooper pulled me over on NJ Turnpike. I was like WTF for? His first line was like: You are driving from NY City. I was like NO, and I made sure that he got that. Basically, I was coming from I-287, between exits 8 and 10! I'm a traffic engineer. That's what I told him. I also made sure he knew that I was working for NJ DOT. No ticket, but he made me realy MAD. Oh yeah, I was not speeding, just flowing with traffic. But still, he got me instead of the van that flu by me doing at least 85 mph.

We shouldn't have to worry knowing that there are so many Harleys out there with straight pipes that are much louder than any TL exhaust. Cops don't bug Harley riders..why should they bug us.

When I lived in Bay Area, I used to get pulled over for having Greddy Extreme on my Prelude. That's cuz the cops up north are pretty picky... but it seems like the cops down here in LA are not as picky as it is up there. Anyone concur?

So no one has gotten pulled over for Comptechs, eh?????

Yo Don I know this is an old thread but I have a quick question for you. I also have a 00 TL and I am about to buy a TANABE exhaust. Is it really that loud that it annoys you with your mornnig commute? I also have to commute to school and it's about 35-45 mins. Would you be able to hear it if you pumped up the radio? I'll prob. get it anyway but I want your opinion. The guy i'm buying it from had a 2001, it will fit my 00 right? Anyways thanks for your help, your opinion will be greatly appreciated. How come the link under your profile doesnt work? I want to see your car. This thread is probably so old that it is ancient.

Those LED tips are so rice! Just need to tap into the parking light for power. You can't be even thinking about putting that on your TL...?!
