Mine is mounted on the left plastic tray on the floor of the trunk. I was going to put it next to the navi, but figured it would block me from putting big items in my trunk. The Alpine should come with all of the mounting hardware, but I know you need to buy an OEM-Alpine cable converter before you install it. I hope this helps...

I have mine mounted behind the rear seat armrest pass thru hole. So I don't have to get out of the car to change magazines, I can just reach over and change it inside the car.

Thanks for your replies.

AcuraTL: Those are some hella long arms you've got. Either that or you sure lean your seat back far. Even if I could reach back that far, I couldn't go with that configuration because I need the pass through.

Drbeatty: Did you velcro your changer to that flat plastic piece that forms a pocket on the side? Do you know whether trunk cargo ever slides into the changer? Are your wires well hidden? OT, what kind of doctor are you?

Tshields2: Does the changer interfere with your trunk space? I would imagine it doesn't anymore than the Navi unit already does.

SC TL: I had mine mounted by Circuit City - and they did a great job. No velcro. I think they just screwed the mounting brackets into the pocket. However they did it, it is sturdy. For $15 I bought a changer cover, which matches the grey trunk cloth and protects the changer from objects like golf clubs and cargo. I hope this helps. Right now, I am a second year medical student, but they will call me "doc" in a couple of months...

I used velcro to hold mine down. Haven't had a problem with stuff banging into it.

Won't fit without some major mods. At least the S620 won't

Post Where is your CD changer mounted?

I have a '01 TL w/navi, and am going to buy an Alpine 620. I was wondering where all of you mount the changer? Is there any special mounting hardware? Where are dealer-installed changers mounted? Along side the navi?

Thanks in advance for your help.

p.s. to moderator: I already posted this in the Audio section; no traffic, no response.

When I got my 2000 TL Navi back on 12/28/99
the CD-Changer was installed by the dealer.
The changer is mounted on the left hand side of the trunk floor. There is a metal rail beside the changer to keep stuff from hitting it.

I didn't mean to say that I could change the cartridge while I was driving. I could do it while I am at a stop light, just lean over and change it. And no, I do not have gurilla arms.....I do not do River Dance

As you can see, it doesn't do a great job of protecting the changer, as you see the scratches on the lower half of the changer..

FTM-1 of Shoofin',

Do either of you have pictures of the install and of those railings? I am very interested in that set up.

Thanks.
