Where Should I Start?

Where Should I Start?
I'm brand new on the Acura scene. I've fallen in love with Acuras/Hondas and JDM. I've been looking around scoping out what I want and I have a list of things I'd like to do. I have a 2000 Acura TL 3.2
I want:
Exterior:
BBS RS 19' (I Don't Anything About The Other Dimensions)
OEM West Wing Lip Kit
JDM Rear Roof Spoiler Visor
The Car Lower 2-3 Inches (Coilover Or Lowering Springs?)
Rear Wheels Camber Kit (Slight Negative Camber)
Inspire Badges/Honda Badges
Interior:
Double Din Stereo
New Middle Console/Different Color Or Redone
2 12' Subwoofer W/Amp
Performance:
New Brakes
New Rotors
Cold Air Intake
Possible Turbo/Supercharger Waaaaay Down The Line
Camshaft
Pistons
Exhaust
Exhaust Manifold
I know its a lot but I really want to get into the Acura/Honda scene more and increase my overall car and repair knowledge. After reading this where should I begin?

Just depends on what you get and what brand. I would recommend coilovers so you can adjust the height. Also I would get an intake, headers, and pullies for performance. Those will gain you the most right there. You just have to search and see what will work best for you and your budget. Before I order anything I search and see what people have thought about it and decide what best for me.

Well maybe something like... Exhaust first, then maybe rims/tires, rotors, paint brake calipers/engine cover, Air intake, Suspension drop (coilovers), Headlight (6k...etc) then possibly speakers/sub/amp.
Thats what i did on my car anyway....

That is quite a good and nice list.
Just keep browsing here and check out our vendors for ideas!
Post what you have going on with your car now.
And why do you want to do a different color on your center console?

Thanks I appreciate it. My center console looks like cheap woodgrain. I'll keep some aspects of it but I want the majority of it like black

As far as exterior or engine mods first, thats up to you. For exterior, I'd go
1. Lower (aftermarket rims on stock height looks bad)
2. Rims (stock wheels lowered aren't great)
3. Camber (depending on the fitment, this may NEED to come next)
4. Lip kit (including roof spoiler)
The little stuff like badges and grill and lights can be done when the funds allow or if a good deal comes up because they're not as major. (meaning; your cars not gonna look like shit if you do or don't do them right away as opposed to #1&2)
Personally, I won't be doing much to my motor. But if I were, I'd start with CAI and exhaust because people will notice that before pistons or anything like that. But that's me. My priorities are looks/sound, performance is not very important to me.

OEM front lip. Looks better to me and from what I hear from a lot of people it's way stronger. The wings west looks ok but it's urethane and 250 bucks + ship. I'd verify fitment as it says 99-03 which it can't fit. Has to be 99-01. The pic shows a 99-01 though so I think it will fit. Here's a link: http://www.wingswest.com/catalog/Acu.../Front-Lip-125

If you're looking for audio upgrades go to www.crutchfield.com They have so much information about anything you need, their service is awesome, and they include a lot of stuff for free. (wiring harness, DIN adapters, etc.) I got my whole setup from them and when I was installing it all I ended up calling them and asking for help which they gave me right away. If you're looking to save money, do your research on crutchfield and then try to buy the same products on ebay for a better price. Good luck with everything!

I prefer sleepers so my vote goes for all the performace enhancements first before all the cosmetic enhancements. My TL looks really good with the eibach sport system plus kits and handles just as well. I believe sway bars play a huge role in tightening the handling up for our cars. Also for performace improvements get headers if you are staying NA for now. Catbacks generally improve sound , not so much the performace. Headers + CAI should give you a nice bump in power.
Ingalls stiffy damper improves the transfer of power to your wheels immensely , although it does add a little extra cabin vibrations during idle.

Cost of mods ?
Hey DIzD, you can roughly tally up the parts costs rather easily, but where it really hits ya up is the installation labor. I'd suggest getting the car in tip top running order first......before attempting the more expensive things. Whatever you can do yourself, start with that....then proceed as your time and budget permits. Don't bite off more than you can chew !

I say start with what you can find. There's some parts you can find anywhere and some become more and more rare w each purchase. Front lip is rare start your search for that now. If you're interested in comptech (CT Engineering) parts find them and buy them, they're discontinuing parts for our cars. Good luck with your search.
