Whats wrong...???

Ok,
I was driving on my stock tires which were almost bold so I decided to replace them.
So I purchased Sumitomo tires and after they were installed I took a trip to lake George.
The driving was horrible, the steering wheel was shaking slightly and when a was braking at 70-80m/h it was shaking badly and the car was going to the left.
So after I came back and told the guys that install them that they F...up my weekend they decided to rebalance them again, I think they also put my right rear wheel to the front and front one to the rear. They also told me that they were unable to test it at 70-80m due to speed limit near their shop...
So now it looks like the shaking in the steering wheel is gone but I think I can feel my brake pedal vibrating slightly when I try to brake...
I had no problems with my old tires, no vibration of any kind...
What’s going on? Is it bad balancing?
What should I do? I think If I go to that place again, they wont fix it....

Looks like your tires are not balanced... most tire shops have a high speed balance machine, so I am not sure why they cannot test it out...

I would also schedule it with them to take a ride with you on a highway near by...

If they are unwilling to do so, find another tire shop... a chain like Mavis or something usually has all the equipment needed...

Warped rotors could have been caused by them over tightening the lugnuts on your wheels when putting them back on your car. Happens at some small shops that use air tools to tighten the lugnuts.

when your driving at highway speeds and you step on the brake, your steering wheel shakes. that's when your brakes are warped. If your driving highway speeds and your your wheel is shaking, it's wheel balancing. Also asked them to tighten your wheels with a torque wrench and not the air gun, if they tighten them too tight, it will cause your rotors to warp, I believe the proper torque for the lugs are 90 lbs.

just follow the directions goldendragon576 gave you. press on the brake at highway speed and you should feel the car start to shake a little. you can always take them off and visually inspect them. i have found that you can see the damage if it is grooved or a slight shape variation if it is warped. but try the highway speed test first.

i have sumitomo tires and i *highly* recommend them. rain, snow, ice. i have never had a problem. i agree that it sounds like a rotor warp problem since they rebalanced the tires.
