Whats it worth?
Whats it worth?
Looking to see how much I can get for my car. I am thinking it is a good idea to let it go while I am still ahead and before something major goes. I started a new job in June, and now I commute 90 miles a day so I am putting some heavy miles on it now.
Acura TL 1999

What would you list this for in NJ in the newspaper/craigslist/ebay?
Wat would be the least you would take for it?
Not sure what I would like next, perhaps a newer used TL.

Are you going to be any better off with a newer TL ?
Your TL appears solid and should bring at least $3000. But I need to ask you: can you justify replacing a car that you know the history of ...... even if it's newer ? You're going to need more money initially to update cars and may very well end up repairing things on it ......even though it may be a newer model !
Your TL has lots of life left in it, with only 111k.....it all boils down to the maintenance, which you've apparently stayed on top of. How's the tranny ?

Valid point, I've gone back and forth about this for a bit.
In regards to your next point, while the miles aren't bad, the years take just as much of a toll on the vehicle. The tranny is okay. Haven't experienced any slipping.
Thanks for the input!

99s 4 speeds are better than the 5 speeds
looks like all you need to complete is the egr cleaning of the intake manifold and she is ready to go anywhere anytime!
thats a big selling point and raises the value by $500-1000 for the 105 service being done
Its the first question everyone ask--tbelt wp job done,,no? uhhh no thanks -click
kbb etc does not account for that or the numerous mods
no they are not worth retail, but are worth something to the person who wants a track day capable car thats easy to drive on the street
advertise in the local SCCA.org site, thats club racers,,and nasaracing is another good place
Someone who spends money having fun and skills practice on the real racetrack will like your car
commute 100 miles a day?, get a decent toyota or honda you dont mind wearing out
and drive it till it drops
compare and list it here in `owner cars for sale` and on CL in your area and surrounds
note CL generates a lot of bottem feeders asking whats the least you will take=-you have to ask more $ than you want,,,

I would not Sell the Car with that Solid Maintenance Schedule....
I agree with 3.2TLc a Newer car will Require more Money on the Down Road to Put it on the Same Shape as Yours.
Years are Nothing if the car is well Kept, The only one Afecting the Years is Oneself and Only if you dont fancy the car as much..
Me? I will never sell my TL-S just becouse I will never make as much As I spend on it. I rather pass it on to my Son/Daughter (When I have One) or Someone else in my Family for Little Money but Keep it in the Family none-the-less.

Yeah, for the extra money required to buy something newer......I'd either just keep it and see how things work out, or .....if ya got an itch along with a few extra bucks burning a hole in your pocket, then go out and find a used Civic or Corolla for durability and mpg !
Once ya let the TL go, you'll kick yourself, guaranteed. It all boils down to your financial situation, imo !
A hard decision, no doubt about it. Best luck on the job and over the road !

$3,000-$3,500 is what you can get. 99 without Navi (assuming from your post) is a target for either a first car, or a commuter. Heavy competition for both groups of the CL.
I'v sold 9/11 of my cars on the CL. All sold within 3 days. Key is to price them right, post good pics, and do a best closing you can.
- Yes ( target, most likely a young kid looking for first car), this is the whip to get your college girls wet. Imaging, pulling up to the lot and revving your AEM intake, everyone looks and you are styling; jaws and panties drop. TL is shining in the sun and you are the King of the Campus.

If you like it, keep it and drive it till at least 200k miles...
You'll probably get less than $4k for it today, and you'll "lose" that $4k in first year depreciation on a newer car too.
IMHO, that $4k pays for a lot of gas and TL preventative maintenance.
