1999 TL cheap mod express

Purchased: July 2007, 67,000 miles, Original owner
Today: 106,000 miles

I've frequented these forums for years, so I'd like to share a little bit of what I have done. I have little automotive knowledge, very little knowledge around me, but have had a strong desire to learn. I call this the cheap mod express, as I have been able to tackle most of the easier mods. Doesn't look like much, but I've put a lot into it. There is a lot more I would like to do, but I am holding off- I don't want to put too much 'modding money' into a car this old.

not in pictures:
Engine mounts
water pump
timing belt
seafoamed
resonator removed

on the way this week:
Magnaflow resonator part# 10416, mid muffler delete.

Big thank you to everyone who helps keep this community alive.

I remember when I first got my car, I use to love doing these kinds of mods. The maintenance was fun too but hurt the pockets. Thanks for sharing.

^ yep.. i was in the same boat. all the little DIY's i came upon, i put them to use and fixed whatever i could with whatever money i had laying around. it feels good in the end because you feel like you've accomplished something by yourself and you don't need to spend much!

Nicely modded, your interior seats look like they're in great condition. I have an 02 and my seats are like 7/10. Yours are like 9/10 if not 10/10!

Nice man, I think the black and silver interior go well together. Does your iPhone hook up directly to your stock radio?

I love doing all the little things to the car, makes you feel like you keep improving it. Its always a slow progress.

Thanks! Besides a rip in the drivers seat (where you constantly hit when you get in and out), the seats look very good.

The iPhone hooks up via tape adapter. Only $10 bucks. I suggest running the wire under the trim like I did. Center console trim pops right off if you haven't tried yet. You can run it to your cup holder and keep it in there and close the cup holder so no one gets any ideas about breaking into your car for an mp3 player because they do not see the wires. Or you could run the wire under the trim to the slot above the CD player- shown in picture.
