Angry What's going on with this car?

I own a 2003 tl-s with navi, and still under factory warranty.

So, I finally got my Viper alarm system with auto start installed. I was told to use an audio/alarm shop rather than best buy. When the system was initially installed, the installer said that he did not need to disable the factory alarm but I would need to unlock the car doors first before using the automatic starter or else the factory alarm would go off. He said to try it out but if I don’t like that idea then i sould bring it back to get the factory alarm disabled. I agreed. The next day I went back and got the factory alarm disabled. Over the weekend, a few days after the factory alarm was disabled, I noticed that the OnStar lights were no longer glowing from the rear view mirror and the buttons were inactive. Also, when I was on my way to a new year’s party, I noticed that the voice guide from the navigation system was not working.

Please people, help me!!
Do these problems have any relations?
What would cause these issues?
How should I go about resolving them?

my car starter automatically unlocks the doors and disarms the car, starts it, and then locks the doors again when u push the start button.... and when u unlock the doors, it disarms both the factory alarm and the aftermarket one with the starter.

if that helps at all

My roommate, a circuit city employee, told me that I need an OnStar interface and some type of Acura module. Does anyone know of these needed components?

All of my stuff works. No need for Acura/Onstar extra crap..

Sounds like the first guys messed something up, but don't make it worse by getting ripped off by a 2nd person.

Good Luck

can you call your installer and ask him a questionfor me? i would really appreciate it:

How did he wire the door triggers up to the alarm? What car wire, what color, and where did he tap into so the alarm knows when the doors are open or closed?

if not, can i please get his no. to give him a call? thanks

Ok, the installer had no clue what he was doing. What he needs to do is hide the valet key somewhere under the dash so that this will bypass the antitheft system. Having to unlock the car before remote starting? That is unheard of. I have the 791xv alarm, so lemme know if you have that as well. Also another feature is the car locks by itself if I forget to press the lock button.
