What would you 99-01 owners take from a TL-S if you could?

Due to some money problems, my grandmother is selling her TL-S and buying a Camry. The TL-S is going to CarMax or to the Toyota dealer. Since neither of these dealers know the major details of a TL-S, im considering "swapping" a few things from my car to hers. I normally wouldnt morally do this, but the dealer is going to SCREW me when i trade it and not give me whats its worth, plus its going to end up going to auction or wholesale neways cause its gunna be hard for them to sell. Heres the list. Anyone wanna add other ideas?

1: Wheels (duh)... They will never know, hell the Honda dealer i went to didnt even know a TL was an Acura...

2: A pillars. the '99's A pillars are vinyl. The new ones match the fabric of the headliner

3: 6 Disc changer (another duh)

4: Side mirrors

5: the HID bulbs

6: Head rests

7: factory sub enclosure (mine is faded, looks almost purple)

8: Spoiler (mine is aftermarket and rattles with my subs)

9: Motor and tranny swap (just kidding, i frickin wish)

Any other ideas?

the TLS rear sway bar is 1mm thicker than the TLP rear sway. Can't comment on the front though.

Ok, so in about 4 weeks some dude is going to show up here saying that he just figured out that he got ripped off.

He's going to wonder why his S has P headrests and '01 wheels.

I hat the way the type s seats look, they look cheesy compared to the P seats, but they do hold you in better. I would take the 6 disk changer. I like the a pillar being vinyl, less stain prone. If you could get the tranny, motor and ecu i would say go for it. Shouldnt be that hard to do a swap, or maybe it is.

Your right, that would suck. But today after going to 5 dealerships, i realized that they wouldent know the difference between a Volvo and a Civic, even if the name of the car was painted on the hood in neon hot pink.

Just remember, it's fraud and you could get in some serious sh!t if they catch you.

Although the dealership might not know, what about the person buying it. Once the dealership figures out what you did, they're gonna go after your granny.

Also most car dealerships will run a carfax type of report and provide it with the car. It will clearly say "6-disk in-dash CD changer"

But hey you do what you want. Granny probably looks good in prison stripes.

I dont think its fraud dude... if u sell ur car with Lowenheart LD-1's instead of the stock wheels, its not fraud. If you have a KVT-911DVD in there instead of factory HU, its not fraud. And as i said before, its unlikley anyone would buy this car. Not when u can pay 2G's more for a new one from the Acura dealer 1.5 miles up the road. Just caude the sales guy at the dealer dont know what wheels belong on a TL-S, ignorance is no excuse.

Good point though, im going to call a lawyer buddie of mine and ask him, about it. but ive got a feeling that he will say "f*ck 'em, its AS IS". Now Selling them the car as a TL-S if it was a TL-P would be fraud... Misrepresentation of model/year/whatever would be bad... ill make the call and let you know!

you should just take the wheels and the 6 disk player. your right its a AS IS sale, if your g-ma doesnt go telling them it has a 6 disk player and 17 inch wheels there is nothing wrong twith the trade.

Take the typeS shift knob and replace it with yours. That will make you feel like you are driving a S even though your car is not.

the 99-01 have the J32A1, Type S has the J32A2 which has 35 more ponies. If I remember correctly, it's from the intake manifold, throttle body mainly... small stuff I don't remember.

Yeah the J32A2 has 3" throttle body as opposed to the 99-01 and TL-P's 2.5 inch, different cams, slightly higher compression, a few other little things. The block is the same, but thats about it...

Cant, the 00-03 shift knobs are a different size... a new one wont scre on to mine unless i drill it... becides, i dont like the type-s shift knob, the flat spot on the top where the logo is pisses me off....

Parking Brake & Heated Seat Location

The Parking Brake Location On The Tls Made The Console Neater And I Keep Hitting The Heated Seats Switch On The New Tl. Bad Location Especially In The Summer. I Had To Take The Fuses Out.

I'd take the 1)6 Disc CD (plays burned CDs) 2) Shift Knob(with cnc retro to fit) 2) The Taillight. 4) The Camshafts 5)Throttlebody
I know cause they all fit in my ride.
