What would happen if?

You put the heads of a type s into a tl-p? Would there be any power advantage? has anyone done it? Thanks. I did a search but didn't find anything. I know the compression is different on both (higher on the TLS) Once again thank you guys.

i heard of this being done....but i've never heard of it on this site....if i remember right the compression on a TLp is 10:5:1......and 10:8:5 on a TLs.....the heads should just bolt on without a problem.....i don't know if they use the same internals.....they have the same bore and stroke so the diference has to be in the head plus the dual stage intake that the S has......someone correct me if mine wrong......

so i guess i was wrong......you posted that up as i was typing.......if they have the same part number for the head the and the bore and stroke are the same how does the S have so much higher compression.....?......

i'm not a master tech so can someone explain how the pistons would create a higher compression.....i know that with stronger pistons you can go with a higher compression.....but how would they create higher compression...and i did a quick search and found this.....a side by side comparison of the P & S specs

http://www.hondanews.com/categories/...4?archive=2003

i was wrong about the compression as well the TLp has 9:8:1.....S 10:5:1

If the pin location was slightly different or the material machined (dome) on the top is slightly more its going to create slightly more compression. I havent seen the pistons between the 2 to know the difference between the 2. But i assume the top shape is different which is whats causing the larger compression on the S

it's simply the shape of the top of the piston, different angles and cavities will create higher or lower compression ratios. look for some rando pistons on jegs.com so you can get an idea.
