What is Top speed on TL-S
f**********ck I was only 9 MPH from the rev limiter. Sh!t man, I was going 220 km/h. I was trying to hit the limit, but had to get off the highway cause my exit came to fast :P
oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I've seen posts of 153MPH but that may have been with a tailwind or, for all we know, the crazy person might have been going downhill. Top speed published in magazines is a consensus 149/150mph though.

I was by myself on one run with and without A/C. I got 138ish out of it. I tried it again several times with the windows open and closed, no A/C. Still 138. Whatever I did, still couldn't get over 139. I've read the theoretical is close to that and many things have to be done to get past it. Lowering and power increase are just a couple. There is a governer on our cars and I don't remember exactly what the number is. In any case, the top speed is not soo important. How you get there is!

That's where I hit 147 mph in my TL too.
Ya our car is fast, and well built car with a solid engine like ours can get on up there - I hit over 120 in my 1990 Chevy Truck it wasnt all stock but still....you just dont want to get caught or your driving days are OVER!!!!
so be carefull

145mph so far and the car was still pushing, long open road 4:45am. Had a Trans-Am convertible (V8) trying to keep up but at 125mph he started to slow down and it looked like at 127mph he hit a rev limiter because I just kept on going pass 130, 135 and I can tell he stayed that fast(127 or so). Now I don't know if he had a rev limiter but it looks like it. I do know that a WS6 (I think those are the numbers) will go 156 but I guess is different for the regular T-Am. Any ideas on this?

When my cousin wanted to see what my car could do, I took it all the way up to 140 mph before I pansied out. It got to that speed pretty quick and I'm sure I could have gone 10mph more. However, I'm not trying it again. If I know my car can do it, why bother going over the occasional 90mph?

I had the same problem. My car was only 3 weeks old at the time. Being in OH now, I don't have a stretch of road long enough and free of cops like I did when I tried the first time. Same as you, it pulled all the way up to 130 and every mph after that made me think of getting out and pushing it (with a friend of course!). I figure those that have seen 150 have different air than I had. I'll try again after I install the CT Icebox and lower the car with my Tein SS's. The reduction in frontal area of the car alone should get me past 140. Now I have to survey the area for a good stretch of road free of cops.
