WHat A RIP OFF

Ok so i order the ct springs and sway bars right, and it costs me about 700 all together to get them to my house. So then i figure hmm have Acura instal them bc no1 in Central NJ messes around with that stuff. Drop if off at the dealer, at 730 at 5 i get a call, ure car is done the total is 770. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT they took so long to do it, the guy said it only took 5 hrs to do but they have to charge me for 9 bc of the policy that it takes 1.75hrs per spring and and 3 for the sways and stuff. i flepped out and they only gave me a 10% dicount. this is out of hand. i am so pissed off i spent more money on the instal then on the parts.

Should have let PAA do it. They do it fast and correctly. And give you a loaner to boot!

HIGHLY REC'D - PARK AVE ACURA

They installed parts that I got from Snook, too!

Should have just bought some $15 dollar compressors and did it yourself. All my friends flipped when I spent $150 on the install. They told me that would've done it for a beer!

Also....the sways are easy.....just a few bolts. Check the FAQ's page. There's even full pics you can look at.

Guyz,
Dealership shop time got revised years and years ago, with this per hour billing system.

Its designed to compensate techs equally. Some techs are faster than others, but the not so fast ones still deserve to get paid the same for the same job. Its good to be fastr cause u can start another job while you should still be working on the other one. This is how the techs get paid. I dont blame them at all, its a really good system, but for out of warranty upgrades like springs and sways, dealer install is a NO NO!!!

Didnt they tell you how much it would be before hand?

I guess I disagree. Not everyone can or wants to install their own aftermarket stuff. What's wrong with letting the dealer do it? If you've got the money, sounds like the quality of the shop's work is the only issue. But, if you don't have money to spare (after buying the parts) then maybe a dealership install isn't for you!

I have my dealership install my parts because then I know if anything goes wrong I just drive in and get it fixed without a lot of explaining. It may cost a little more... but it saves me a hassle if something needs fixin' later.

Just my $.02,

V.

Before you go call PAA and find out how much. I think it will be cheaper than what they quote on the website. Its outrageous. I called Bridgewater Acura and they told me 700+tax to install springs. 9hrs of labor. I laughed at them.

Go to the link below, print up the chart that's about a 1/4 way down the page, and bring it in with you. If they really have a "low price" guarantee.... then they'll be screwed.....

I always thought that a key component of being a car enthusiast, was doing your own work. I guess this isn't true anymore.
more like 15mins per spring
I will personally drive to NJ, and kiss your pimply ass, if you can change a front spring (complete, including prep work) in 15 minutes.

First you should have ask how much it will cost to install both of them. Second, if it is too high, you should have made the trip to PAA. They get it done RIGHT!!!

Wow, that's pretty damn expensive...I found that Acura's are farily easy to install springs...where my 540 you have to rip out the back seats and the rear "dash", subs, and all kinds of other junk to get to rear suspension.
