I just got PIAA Xtreme HIDs. I got both the 1156 (H-227) and 1157 (H-228), because I was going to do the front corner blinkers (not sure now, because if it means I will get hassled by the cops, I may look for a cool amber-"ish" bulb). Now I can't remember which ones go where. I had 5 minutes and was going to replace the reverse lights, but... dang, how the heck do you get to them?
I changed almost all the bulbs in my TLS now, except license plate, low-beams, trunk, and dash. Anyone have suggestions for those?

Your low beams are HIDs - I don't think you want to change those Hi beams are 9005 style bulbs. License and trunk are "168" type small wedge bulbs. Dash lights are .5 watt LEDs behind the instruments (gotta leave 'em). If you have SuperWhite interior bulbs they make your stock dash lights look really nice anyway.

 

PIAA X-treme White

 

People are talking about having the blue bulbs in the front corners for the blinkers. I am leaving the amber reflector there, and whatever bulb is behind it (unless someone knows of a nice one to put back there, but I want the amber to keep it legal). What I want to know is, if I take out the amber blinker bulb (in the clear housing) and relace it with a PIAA Xtreme HID (1156 or 1157?) which is blue in color when not lit and white(?) when lit, is that illegal? I live in Washington state, if that matters. I hear conflicting opinions on legality. Some say your blinkers have to be amber, some say you just have to have an amber reflector up front. Does anyone know a website that I can look up what is legal and what isn't? Thanks. And thanks for the replay, TL Daddy. What did you mean by "If you have SuperWhite interior bulbs they make your stock dash lights look really nice anyway."? I would love to have blue dash lights like the new VWs. Are you saying we can't do that? I wish the order Nate has going would fit the TLS, too.

 

I'm using the PIAA extreme whites also. Doesn't seem to make that much of a difference.

They indiglos we are having made will fit the Type S, though a few markings are different. Read the last few posts on the indiglo thread.
