What oil for supercharged?

does it necessary to use a thicker oil with the comptech supercharger?

5W-20 and 5W-30 simply are not for boost engines

Synthetic yes, higher weight no! Boost or no boost the engine is made to take a specific weight oil. If anything you should worry more about the tranny, like a higher grade tranny fluid & tranny cooler.

agreed. the engine is designed for a specific weight. use the same as before. (just use a good oil)

Remember, thicker is not necessairly better; it is STABLE viscosity that is the key. You must find an oil that does not thin out during the duration of the interval, which is a common problem with dinos since they shear down for fuel economy purposes, then thicken back up through oxidation.

I'd suggest Redline 5w-20 for this application as Redline works VERY well in high stress applications; consider having Dyson Analysis do an oil analysis and interpretation to ensure that you're using the right oil.

Few people except Terry Dyson of Dyson Analysis understand how to properly interpret a Redline UOA.
