Um the VTECH engine ... The way it corners and goes around turns n' $hit!!! It's not 80grand for nothing, itz up there... But its no where near as phat as a SL500, itz over 80 (like 86) but go all tha way, dont be gay ... Ill eat that NSX all day with my momz benz, shit is raw... Its got the AMG package rims... They are 18's sittin clean on some 245/40's front and 275/40's for the rear... Handling is very impressive !!!

S.HOlla ...

I dunno, but I think i'd rather have an NSX than a Benz. The Benz doesn't have that exotic quality of an NSX.

NSX is a lightweight G-Machine.

The motor in the nsx has a very short stroke according to my mechanic. It's essentially a 6 cyl motorcycle engine. The VTEC and short stroke make great power at the top end just like a crotch rocket. This really seems to be a trend these days. Motors with smaller displacement make most of their power at the top end. That's on of the major complaints I have with my TL. It seems that low end power is lacking, well at least comparatively. That could have something to do with the 4 speed auto too though.

That's true for all VTEC and other valve timing knock-offs. They can produce more power but come in @ high REV when the VTEC kicks in.

So you have rev it up to get the torque and power. But a good V8 - Benz SL500 - have all the torque and power the sec you step on the gas, no waiting.

Entire body, engine and much of the suspension is aluminumum. Not too cheap, and the connecting rods in the engine are titanium. This helps the engine rev more quickly for better acceleration, as the rods are strong and light, thus not weighing the pistons down.

Cool

The engine is just the exotic version of our 3.2, with better breathing, and DOHC heads.

The next gen NSX is going to have 400hp from a 3.5

I think the Aluminium Alloy used in the NSX is an Aircraft aluminium alloy which is stronger than steel and yet lighter by about 40%.....

Also, unlike the Mercedes, the NSX is a hand-built car, which has much more tighter tolerances than commoner cars that are built on assembly lines (like the Mercedes). Even in AMG tuned Mercedes vehicles, only the engine is hand-built, unlike the NSX, which is entirely hand-built.

Incidentally, the Takanezawa plant in Japan where the NSX is built, is the only Honda plant in the world, that is labor intensive (few robots involved in the manufacturing process), and the few chosen, talented people who are selected to go there, consider it a great honor to be at the Takanezawa plant. The S2000, which is built with more mechanical processes, is also assembled there.

I was reading the review of various cars by Mario Andretti (yup ! the maestro himself) a while back (including the NSX, the Ferrari F355, the Porsche 911, the Lotus Esprit V8, the Chevy Corvette and the Dodge Viper).... he was showering praises on the NSX engine and its power delivery, which in his words, was extraordinary....the chevy or the Dodge did not have many kind words from him (to put it mildly), even though, on paper, they have pretty impressive numbers.

Ahhh, I think I'll take the NSX over the benz. After all. I took the TL over the 99' C280 Sport that I had for a week only to return it with disgust. The suspension package was too rough for my taste.

You can do a lot with 295 horses. Have you guys seen the videos of races on temple of vtec b/w the NSX and a few other cars (M3, 911, etc.)

Go through the following link and you will find the differences between the 3.0L and the 3.2L engine variations. Also, you will understand why the NSX is special:

Don't forget to mention that it's mid engine..... Makes for extremely good weight distribution. Also, the engine is built with some very exotic metals including lots of titanium. I believe the connecting rods are titanium so it has less moving weight therefore revs very freely.

I DEFINITELY choose NSX. Most compelling is that it is very rare and eye-catching. I would not give shit about how much power it has. I dont care if it has GEO METRO's engine ), I still take it. How many MB you encountered on each day vs. how many NXS you see each day?
