What to look for in a 2002 to buy...
Not really. I always recommend having it checked out by a trusted shop and making sure you get a warranty - even a 90 day/certified used car warranty.
Your tranmission would be covered by Acura for 7 years, 100k miles from the original purchase date. There is no paperwork/fee to transfer this benefit to you.

As with any used car you are considering, check every switch and option...all the windows, open all the doors, open the sunroof, tire tread and all the usual stuff etc...on the '02 tl's check the rear view mirror for proper clarity (some have had their fluid leaked out, it will stain the black center console below) also many mirrors are loose and will not stay in place. Notice if the brakes stop smooth, warped roters are common. If it a reputable dealer, you can negotiate any concern you have on the car....if they are not willing to take care of it (in writing), tell them you will walk and keep shopping. And don't pay too much....plenty of clean '02s down here in the $16-18 range.
Good Luck!!

Thanks so much guys! I did buy it -- a 2002 Acura 3.2 TL Premium. It's eternal blue pearl with tan interior. The car has 64,000 miles on it and I bought it for $13750 in Dallas. I think there's a big Honda/Acura auction down there -- some good prices in that city!
