Hey there. A high flow catalytic convertor is a convertor with a larger diameter than the stock unit. This allows more exhaust to flow out of the car at a higher rate, which increases engine performance. Some other people on this board probably know much more than I do about it.

The are the performance version of stock cats. They provider higher flow and less restrictive to your exhaust system which in turn usually provide more power.

The Comptech exhausts had a "Big Smell" for 2 days after changing them. Very Stinky!

I dont know if anyone explained in detail what a Catalytic converter is but here goes any way. If you look at your exhaust system you will notice that it is made up of 4 parts (well most cars). There are the headers, the catalytic converter, the resinator pipe then the muffler. The catalytic converter is the part that connects to the headers and the resinator pipe. What it is designed to do is to burn the unwanted carbons in your exhaust before they exit from the car. A catalytic converter can be very restrictive so that is why they make high flow versions of them. When you look under your car at the exhaust system it is the piece that is relitivly close to the bottom of the engine that is only about a foot long. I hope this helps.

It is designed so that it meets low emission standard in the US. So if you take it out it will blow out more polution into the air. anyway, you will release more air out of the car so it will move faster.
