Man I pulled into my garage today and turn my stereo down. Guess what i heard. I heard a clickin sound in my engine. I shift into park adn the sound goes away and then I shift to reverse there is the sounds, nutural, all the gear and even s/s mode. there was the clicking sound. Thats not normal huh... should I take it back to the dealer. My Tl is almost 3 months. What to do. does your TL do that

My sunroof squeaks and the subwoofer grille rattles, but nothing else. Sorry I can't help more.

Is the clicking engine speed sensitive? Could just be injector noise being reflected by your garage walls. Did this just start?

 

I also have a rattle coming from the subwoofer area. Were you able to fix it? I spent some time back there and inside the trunk and couldnt isolate the rattle.

 

Try having a friend sit in the back seat and push up on the rear glass when you hear the sound. The dealer recently remounted my rear window and it fixed most of the rattles in the back. They also replaced the sunshade and that fixed the crackling sound I heard from the back.

There is still one slight rattle that I noticed when driving my car on the freeway, but my car has a lot of junk in it at the moment so I just need to clean it out before I try to pinpoint this one. I also don't drive my car as often as I used to so it doesn't bother me as much.

I too have that clicking sound. If you open up your hood you'll notice it is comming from the driver side near the firewall. I believe thats the coolant pump since it would occationally turn off and on depending how hot it is outside. I never really noticed it untill after I put in my CAI which involves replacing a small section of the cooling line.

 

Actually, there is a clicking sound that comes from a small vacuum(?) valve located on the firewall (drivers side). I asked the dealer about the noise and they pointed it out to me. I was told it has something to do with emissions and the sound is perfectly normal. I thought at first it was a noisy injector.

You can't hear it from inside, though.

 

My CL-S did that when it was newer, its the torque converter. My car does not click anymore.
