this morning.. im late. had to meet a client in the office at 930. and im on the freeway at 920 ( about a 15--20 mins drive to work) so im hauling a$$. so i was curious how fast i could go in 3rd. so just as i was entering the long straight-away on the free... (approximately 2 miles long.) i dropped into third from 60... and my little experiment was on. i reached about 110. and it felt like i was going over some big bumps. (well, not too sure if those little bumps i hit on the freeway was magnified cause i was going so much faster) then my car just automatically went to fourth. soo.. im curious. what was that? and another odd thing was that my car seemed a lot more quieter than usual after.

-this all in my head or think something happened?

oh..btw. my car ran fine after. and i was only 10mins late. and my client seemed like he could careless i was late. when i came in, he was hitting on our receptionist. who is one hot piece of norweigen a$$.

The computer will automatically upshift as you hit redline. Self preservation is programmed in.

huh? what year? mine has never upshifted at redline on it's own. In the manual it says the tranny will only downshift automatically.

 

Our cars only upshift on their own from 1st to 2nd gear, thats it. It downshifts through all the gears on its own.

 

I have reached the limiter many times with out a automatic upshift 3-4. Hmmm?

Hmm, maybe I'm mistaken. I admit I've never tried it and I may have it confused with another car.

 

Annoying, it shifts at like 2k too. UGH! My '99 wouldn't do that!

 

The car upshifts automatically from 1'st to second, but if you let it hit redline in other gears, it will upshift automatically as well.

i bounced off the rev limiter 3 times during an intense racing session before upshifting to 3rd....it never upshifted automatically.

 

the car should only upshift in other gears if u hit the rev 3 times... thats what he might have been confusing as bumps, when u hit the rev limiter it cuts off the gas, so the car kinda stutters, and if u let it do it 3 times, it'll upshift automatically.

 

I think he was in D5, not SS so it will shift up when it hits red.

And where is that pic?? I dated a girl with a similiar description except for she had B cups and didn't have a big booty, just right I would say.

seemed like the car wouldn't go. then it went. so.. what does this mean in damage terms? i f*ck something up? im sure i wore my engine out more than normal. but anything immediate?

 

oh btw, the past couple days ive been messin with my receptionist.. kind of giving her a hard time for hitting on my client. and some pretty funny banter was traded between us. i came in from lunch today .. and there was a little yellow post-it with two numbers.. home and cell. with a happy face. =). ahhaha. life is too good sometimes.
