Are they the very tiny black sticky dots on the paint? If so, then I will conclude that my car cover is useless, because it doesn't block tree sap.


After parking my car (w/ cover) under a tree for a week, I found a lot of small black dots on the paint. My car cover is a very light-weighted kind, so it floats when there is wind.

Guys, how do you remove those tiny sticky particles on the paint? Clay?

 

if they dont wash off with soap and water they may bee tree sap
have you tried to wash the car?

 

They don't wash off. So tree sap floats in the air together with dust? Its kind of strange.

This week I parked car under a tree to avoid sun heat, and it turns out to be a mistake

Holy crap son if your car cover moves at all it's scratching your paint. Take that sucker off. It's doing more harm than good.


Try a tree sap/road tar remover first... should have a bottle of that in your garage anyway. It'll remove all kinds of yucky stuff from your car.

 

whatever it is, it's not good for you car. use a clay bar and try to remove it asap

 

If your car is well waxed, Before you go and do somthing extrem. Try aerosal window cleaner(The type safe for tinted windows of course), try that first. It came off as easy as can be. The same thing happened to my car, but I don`t use car covers(Bad experance prevouisly with them) the cheap ones will screew up your paint job in short order. .

 

The air in Philly is dirty, and I don't have my backyard to wash the car. THat's why I need the cover to protect my car from dusts.

I tried using Mequiars " Clear Coat cleaner", it removes those spots real easy, but it smells like it has some disolvent that harms the paint.

I am really ****ed up at this point. Sun heat, dust, tree sap, cover scratchs, try to avoid one and you get into another!!!!

 

My 2 cents would be that on your day off wet your car completely and get a good quality clay bar and get busy on the sap covered areas make sure you keep the car wet and lubricated at all time while applying clay. if you have wet diamond paint or lighter colors then there is a product called aresol if you use it properly it should take the stuff off .... hope that helps
