Well it isnt the Newer (Less Prone to Failure) Design of the Tranny.
If it was the Newer Design, The Jet Kit had to be Internal.

It is just our Original (Rebuilt + Jet Kit) Tranny = Shitty Transmission with a Band Aid so It will Fail Again... Eventually.

With original transmission design? Yes.

That car is pretty nice looking, but who knows when the tranny was replaced (had to be pre-2005 if original case with external oil jet). It's probably ready to go again soon IMHO. No drive train warranty? No deal.

Looks like a heck of a nice TL, and $7500 seems reasonable (however I haven't shopped that model year). I'm always nervous about a car with that many miles on the odo... How can you rack-up 90k miles in Hawaii???
I hope you're in HI, as I couldn't imagine what it would cost to have the car shipped to the mainland!

For that Money and that Many Add-Ons = NO.
Becouse I already know all about the car, The goods and Bads and for Me, The shitty tranny doesnt outweight the Good Things.

Pretty MPGs, Alot of Power and More to Come with Mods, Comfortable Ride, Nice Looking Ride, Etc... Also he Has Coilovers + OEM Lip Kit (Visual Orgasm)...

SO I WOULD BUY IT. Becouse if the Tranny Fails It wouldnt Surprise Me, If you are Mentally and $$$$ Prepared BUY IT. Its a Hell of a Good Ride for that Money...

Man, you're good. Found his other threads and after reading through them it sounds like the trans is post-2005 (I misunderstood from the way he worded it on his craigslist posting). With the post-2005 case and all the mods it sounds like a decent deal - as long as the repairs from when it became a "rebuilt" title are up to snuff.

I guess having a baby put the 6spd conversion plans on ice.

It's a great car. It looks nice and seems well taken care of. Just test drive, ask a lot of questions, and have your mech look the car ovr. If you do buy it, If it hasn't been done change the pressure switches and change fluid with redline racing ATF.

so i'll need to check if there's a warranty that comes with that purchase

oops was not thinking about the looks Just thinking reliability wise. I do agree that 3g are ! Its like a freezer on wheelsNothing against 3g folks!! I loved my 03 TLS and its really really sad that the tranny was designed so poorly Eventhough I loved my 03 TLS, it was not feasible to repair it and I just can't find a reason to recommend it.

^ No, no it does not.

Congrats on the baby on the way!

Did you sell it to this naes dude? Re, 6sp trans, the way people talk about it on this forum it sounds like you'll have little trouble selling it - shipping from HI could be an issue though. Post your stuff in the Black Market and see what happens.
