im not sure how they replicated it i think they just tested the unit, they replaced the climate control unit im guessing the part with the screen and stuff, worked fine after that

I had this exact problem on my 2000. The climate control system is shorting out and will need to be replaced. The part # is 79600-S0K-A42ZA. I am at work
and just pulled up my R.O on the computer from when mine was done. I don't know what retail is but parts warranty cost on the unit is 194.57, so if you're out of warranty, it will probably be around $250 plus labor. Labor time is 1.6 hours
at around 75.00 an hour customer pay. Hope this helps some. Use this to battle with your svc dept. if they tell you labor time is going to be more. Mine was done under warranty, so 1.6 hours is standard time.
