Sometimes when I first start my car, it will idle for a second then shut off. Also sometimes after I drive it for a second and come to a stop, it will also shut off. What could be causing this. I just got new mufflers if that may have some influence on this dilemma.

It might be you air sensor, as they have that symptom when they start to go. Rather than guess at it, take it in for a diagnostic check. If it is the MAS, it could leave you stranded when it finally goes.
