Question Weird Dome Light Problem

So I've been having this problem that I haven't been able to figure out. My dome light went out about 6 months to a year ago. Weird because it's an LED bulb and shouldn't need replaced ever. So I finally got around to picking up a new LED bulb today and replaced and boom it didn't work. I noticed before that the light would work intermittently which was weird as well. So I checked the fuse. It's good. All the other interior lights work including the door marker lights. Checked the dome light connectors for power with the multimeter and there's no power to it. Any recommendations on what to check or possible easy fixes? This is really a weird one.

There is no constant +12 on those? there should be... if not you wanna look at a spliced wire somewhere between the roof and the passenger fuse box.

The blue/white wire is the constant 12v, The wire makes its way to the roof through the passenger side A pillar trim which can be easily removed without any tools but you can use a flat head to pop it off after removing the weather strip.
Test the wire for 12v or better yet use a test light to put load on the circuit. If theres power there then you need to look further up into the headliner.

Thats what I would do.

That's what I'm gonna look at tomorrow. I took the dome assembly apart and put dielectric grease on all the connectors and cleaned them good and it's still no good. I did notice that after all these miles the tape covering the wires melted. The wires are fine though. Seems like a really weird situation.

It may not be obvious, but the dome light uses a ground via the nuts that hold it in place. I ran into this problem when I was installing a custom LED setup, where I was getting weird output from it until I bolted it in place.

Also make sure to take it down and check for melting around the contact pieces, not uncommon on these.

Yeah, I noticed that. I took the whole assembly and cleaned it all up with some WD-40 and an old tooth brush. I hoped that would do it. No change though. Tightened the bolt down on it pretty hard too. I'm thinking it's something to do with that but just can't figure it out. I still haven't gotten around to check the wire going up to it. The heat shrink around wires was melted though from the old halogen bulb. I didn't see any problem with the connectors though to be honest. I'm still thinking it's a problem up there though.

So did ya ever get it working ? If so what was the fix

Reason I ask is, I was reading a TSB for older Accords that had dome light go out and they put the blame on aftermarket alarm systems that burn the a circuit on the dash to make the light work.

I never have been able to find the problem. It's so weird that it's just the one light. The door marker lights are fine. I'm beginning to think there may be a problem with the writing.

I am having issues with my dome light also. However, the way mine is being tempermental seems to be the switch. The light won't always come on, when the switch is in "DOOR" mode, but if i move the switch just a bit, it comes on. It lights up just fine when I move it to full ON mode. I am going to take it apart a bit and see if the switch parts are not making solid contact. Have you checked out your switch to see if it might be that simple?
