Weird dead tranny!!!

My 99 TL (6.4k mils) finally got dead tranny, but it'z kinda weird. The transmission works just perfect when I start drive but it starts to slip at about 1.5 rpm after lo~ng drive about 30 ~ 60 min. Do you guys think I got dead tranny? The dealer say it's dead tranny but I just wanna check it if it's other problem, because it's Canadian vehicle and there was only ignition switch recall in Canada :fingerfawk: So, I need to pay $5,000 to replace it but I'm afraid about tranny gonna blow One more time, TWO more times, or maybe THREE MORE TIMES
Please tell me what do you guys think about my situation.
Is it dead tranny? if yes should I replace it which i'm not sure when it'll be dead agina?
Thx for adv.

I hate those freaking acura dealerships. The warranty on the car just expired and now they want u to fork out all that money to replace. What is wrong with repairing it out of good will? Don't they realize that it will get them more business in future? But then when you are shopping for a new car those stupid salesmen will preach to you like there is no tomorrow. Make them realize that you will never bring business their way again. :sqnteek: argggghh

NO, there is no extended warranty for Canadian TLs. Also, the warranty dies when the car is purchased in US no matter WHAT. damn acura, I feel so betrayed.

Canadian TL's are selling at a much cheaper price than US TL's. Not extending warranty is one of the many tactics deployed by Acura to try to stop the flow of Canadian TL's into the US territories.

you should trade in RIGHT NOW!!! thatway you wont have to worry about any $5000 to replace the tranny...get an 02-03 or maibe a type S and just say that you dont want an old car and that you are ready to pay AND take the new/used 02-03 right there and then.
