Waxing car

Well after 5 years and almost 200k, i "Finally" got around to waxing it. All i can say is you people who do this stuff on a monthly basis are NUTS!

Here is what i used, Pics of the car will hopefully follow as soon as i can get the car outside in some sun (which there isnt any)
the 303 was used on the inside

I've never waxed mine, either. Come to think of it, mine has been washed in months.

What does FST TYMS mean, anyway?

I waxed mine for the first time about 3 weeks ago. Part of the TL appreciation phase I was going through. I don't enjoy waxing either, which is surprising because it feels so good to have the car looking nice.................Looking forward to the pics...

wow, you did the works. That must have taken you all day.

My TL gets the complete Wash/Clay/Polish/Wax once a year (8 hrs of work) and just gets a normal hand wax every 3-6months.

Started at 3:45 was done by 7 (had to take a break for dinner) The buffer cuts down on time spent. no need to claybar with that and the compounds i used

03CoupeV6, yeah I get bitten by that bug every once in a while. Then my girlfriend informs me that "it's just a car" (actually, what I think she's really saying is that she wants me to pay more attention to her)...

fsttyms1, today was first day we've had any sun since I got back from Florida. Oh yeah, the temp never got above 32 degrees!

Shame on you Guys.

My 2002 tl-s gets a once a week wash followed by a every 3 month wax. Megiurs wax, and wash products. For a quick wash I use the MR. Clean system work very good in the winter ....

washing once a week isnt always a option up here. Also waxing that often isnt necessary. (from a painters stand point and my car as proof)

I've never waxed before either. Just got the TL two weeks ago and this forum got me so paranoid so I went out and bought what I felt would do the job with the least amount of work.

Klasse AIO
Sonus Detailing Spritz
303

I'll do the Klasse and 303 (interior) like twice a year, wash like twice a month (I'm lazy) with spritz. Hopefully I can keep it up. I've been going to the local hand wash for years with my RSX. Now I notice all the tiny scratches in the clear coat that I didn't even know existed before!

Ignorance is bliss I guess

wow, maybe its just a perk of living in florida, but i wash/wax/detail once a week. in fact, religiously every sunday...

every six months it gets a clay and three-step wax.

i dont think its obsession, but rather appreciation... it treats me good, likewise to it. not to mention, its a peace-of-mind to drive in a classy, clean car all the time. additionally, it makes the next cleaning very easy when the water just beads off...

i use a combo of gold class and tech wax from meguiars and mothers clay bar for when that time comes. other than that, its a tire shine, window clean/rainx, vaccuum, febreeze, and wax every week....

Wax lasts ALOT longer than 1 week. doing it more often is just less time you could be doing something different

I hand waxed my RSX once a month. Haven't owned the TL long enough to wax it yet. I like black cars, so I was every other week minimum to keep it looking good.

shit I can wash and wax my car with NXT in about an hour and clean rims and shine tires! It doesn't take too long if you do it regularly and it is fun to me so no big deal.

Looks like you used some pretty good stuff Chris, but if you stay up on it, a coat of Nxt goes on and off in 20 minutes, and you only need that every 2-3 months. Stay on top of it, and its easy you slacker.

In the same time, I've probably put on over 100 coats of sealants alone on my cars. i am a little crazy when it comes to my cars though.

All and all it went pretty quick given its never been done. Your right the wax is a 20 min thing. That stuff goes on and comes off so nice. Ive got a professional grade stuff that is best applied with a buffer also but after using the stuff i did i felt no need for it and the NXT is probably just as good
here is a close up of the stuff i used. (old pic but same stuff)
(ive been usint this stuff for years after painting cars and wetsanding to buff to a brilliant shine) Highly recomended to anyone

And i must say the honda spray cleaner and polish is Great stuff and works really well between washes and great for rubber and plastics also. It has a nise anti static property to it

Wow...took you long enough. In the summer, I detail a couple cars a day. Gets really tiring after a while.

nice job, i just let my detail guy do it, for $100 he does the inside and outside, full synthetic polymer etc, engine bay is spotless, and its worth it to me, then maybe every 6 months let him "touch it up again".
