vibration while in gear and brake applied

I'm not sure how to explain it but ill try .....In park or neutral it seems fine but when I'm at a stop light my 99 acrura tl vibrates.

I have tried to jack the car up to see if it was a load thing but when in the air the wheels are turning and when I apply the brake it starts vibrating, but when i let off it stops and its fine ,now ive changed all motor and tranny mounts except for the 2 $150 ones but they seem fine ......any geusses would be great thanks in advance...

idle is only high for a few minutes at start up but sits at 700 to 800 normally

high i mean 1000 to 1200

hmm, check the tension of your throttle cables, they my be just a tad bit too tight and its not letting the TB plate close all the way, or its not letting it close freely.

i had this problem, i loosened the cables up just a tad, and i have a normal idle - 600 rpms

How many miles do you have on the mounts? They usually don't last past 60k so I'd check them again, I had terrible vibrations at idle in gear until i changed them.

Im assuming your refering to the 2 big ones that have the vacuum lines to them .... im not to sure how old they are i recently bought this car and some minor issues have come up but right now its the vibration and visually they look fine but there is always the chance they are bad.is ther any way other than visual to check them?

The mounts are really hard to look and tell if they're bad. You would have to do the foot on brake and go through gears while someone looks under the hood for any engine movement. I have all new mounts. Just changed the rear. As soon as I took it out fluid leaked out really good so it was shot but I couldn't tell by looking at it. When I did the front it opened up like a can of soda! Again didn't know till they came out. If I were you I'd seafoam it up too! Oh and the front is about $80 and the rear was $130 from acuraoemparts.com. I know it sucks to have a tl that isn't sewing machine smooth.

that sounds like a front mount- the front usually goes sometime after 50k miles and then the right side fails if the front not fixed soon.. usually found with trans failure - first time anyone looked at the mounts

Others failing would mean the front broke a long time ago and the others had to take that load and failed
Yes they are expensive- and fluid filled- and some years have a vacuum boost line to them so they tighhten up on full throttle--cooool man~

One of those fails and you get a mystery vac leak too

put the car on ramps and look UP at the front-rear mounts for a fluid leak-dust stuck in a funny line to side or bottem of mount,, very small drips on garage floor of strange oil like no other you have seen

Our cars lack an upper engine torque bar so the mounts take a beating.. especially if you thrash

That is my thoughts and i just realized that it doesnt happen in reverse only drive and as for the tranny it shifts just fine aside from needing new fluid and a screen cleaning. BTW this tl has 151000 miles on it.

Are there any after market bars that i can put on? i work at a welding shop so im assuming i can put one on but wondering if there is an oem part

i also drive it pretty soft considering other issues that need fixed and soon as money shows up that can happen but trying to do the minor things now.
