Vibration in steering wheel

I just picked up a 2000 TL with 59K miles and I get a slight vibration in the steering wheel when I'm in idle at a stop light or braked in D5. The RPM's don't fluctuate and are at a 750RPM constantly. I just wanted to know if this is normal. In my previous car I didn't get any vibration at all. It may just be the vibration of the engine, but should I be feeling that, or should I take it in to get checked out. I can barely feel this vibration in the drivers seat as well.

If your engine is running there is going to be a slight slight feel of that through the whole car. Basically you can tell your car is running. If the steering wheel is actually vibrating to the point where you can see it moving back and forth while you are stopped then that might be an engine mount, but that would most likely take affect on daily driving as well. Try to describe further.. Maybe someone else can offer advice beyond this...

Its more like you described acuracy...you cannot see the steering wheel vibrate, so I guess all is well. I will change the fluids and filters anyway though

If my steering wheel vibrated because I hadn't changed my oil I would be pissing myself. I doubt that is your cause....otherwise your engine is about to seize.

not changing your oil in 7k miles has nothing to do with your wheel vibrating. most likely an engine mount cause these engines should idle silky smooth if everything is working as it should

I have this problem as well. It's pretty annoying.

Assuming it's an engine mount, how expensive is it to fix? If under a grand I might have to just bite the bullet.

there are a few different mounts, all can be replaced for well under a grand

So if it was vibrating while driving it would be an engine mount, but since it is only during idle and not bad enough to actually the wheel vibrating its just the engine...correct?
