Question Vaper smoking through the vents

This is really weird, I notice this in the summer time, it looks like there is some type of vapor being blown out through the air conditioning vents. Does anybody know what this is? It was actually kind of funndy my brother and I were like WTF?! LOL

its temp/dew point issue making it happen
try opening the system to outside air, not always on recirc
Make sure the vent in rear of center console is open

of course if it smells bad- thats different! a freon gas leak has occured

No it doesn't smell bad. I had to put my nose right up to it to get a smell. If it smells like anything I would say a kind of sweet smell. It happens mostly on humid days so it might just be condensation.

A sweet smell could indicate leaking antifreeze (heater core). Have you noticed if the coolant level has dropped?

It's just condensation from the humidity in the air. Contrary to the 2nd reply, you are probably bringing in outside side air with a high humidity level/moisture content. Next time it happens, see if your recirculating button light is on. If not, press it and it will clear up pretty quickly. This will help "dry" out the air inside the car. If you live in the south, I'm pretty confident in this diagnosis. Now, if you live in a dry climate like the SW or up north then you probably have some other problem.

The recirculating button light, at least mine, is tough to see in direct sunlight.

The drain would be somewhere under the car, somewhat close to the evaporator coil / blower.

drain plug is located passenger side at the bottom of the firewall, you can see the tube sticking out from under the car.
