Post V-AFC install...

Has anyone on here installed the Apexi vtec controller? I just ordered one for my CL-S and I want to install it myself.

Nevermind I just read it. Seems as if he had to cut the sunglass holder. I wonder what he used.

Here is the Manual of the V-AFC. on page 12 is the wiring diagram. Not sure how different it is to what they sent with the unit.

The Accord Specs are all wrong in the old manual. I had to call them twice!! Ask for the '99Accord sheet or '00Accord sheet, it makes a big difference. I used the '99Accord sheet and my '00TL and the RPM signal was way off so I was lock on my high Cam the whole time!!
Another thing the VTM wire has to be installed, where as the old manual showed that I shouldn't use it.
Call Apex-i and have them fax you or I just talked them and counted off the pins together in sequence. Oh yea we couldn't find the right RpM signal so I tapped into the one by the battery.

Hmm, that doesn't sound too good. I want to be able to hook everything in at the ECU level.

They have a PDF on there site. I am sure you will do a few things different when it comes to which wire goes where.

Here's the site were you can download the 45 page PDF file. http://apexi-usa.com/documentation.asp but it's the old manual (everything is the same except for the Accord ECU harness)
Even the updated version doesn't have the 2000-2001 Accord ECU Wiring Harness, for that you have to call.....The 99-01 Accord ECU harness all looks the same but where the wires are, are different.
The only problem I ran into was the VTM Signal wire (but they told me which ECU wire it was) and the RPM signal wire(even till this day, I still can't find the right one)

Webtoker,
I got one of the Acura mech's to help me out and dyno the thing, either this Sat or next. He's pretty cool, very much into mods and stuff. I'll keep you posted!

FYI, I just spoke with an installer that worked on another TypeS and he said the wiring to the ECU is the exact same as the Accord even the RPM signal.
