I am planning on getting tinting. I also use a V-1. Has anbody, who is using a V-1, gotten metallic tint? If you did, have you noticed any change in the sensitivity of the unit or reliability of the directional pointer?

 

hey man, do a search on "window tint and navi", itll give ya some info probably, but i dont see why it would bother it.

 

I have a v-1 and metallic tint. There isn't much difference in the way it preforms.

 

I have a V1, but I only had it for one afternoon before I had my windows tinted with 70% metallic, so I couldnt tell you if it made a big difference. Keep in mind, your front will not be affected, as it is not tinted, and *most* of the time, you detect radar from the front. Its the rare occasions that a cop comes at you from behind (assuming you're slightly speeding, and the cop is going the limit, he'll never catch up to you) and assuming a cop doesnt turn out from a side street :o

 

I got my V1 after my tint was installed, but I haven't had any problems at all. It seems to pickup signals through the rear window no problem!!
