This car is advertsed as a 2002 3.2 TL Type S.
Orange/red tails and 3.2 TL badging
Different headrests then those I've seen (with the space, and more triangular shape)
No type S shift knob

That definately looks Aegean blue pearl, has the type S wheels, and perforated leather. Any other way to tell without motor pics?
Here is the vin if anyone can run it and find out for sure...

This car also has perforated steering wheel and silver guage cluster found on the TYPE S.
Looks like it's a type S with 2000 TLP tail lights. Headrests are also from a TLP.
Looks like someone else wanted the headrests and taillights, so they swapped before selling it.

Carfax = Waste of money. It came back clean on the TL I bought (the front bumper has been painted and the back one had some minor impact marks) as well as the Accord I traded in ($12k+ repairs from a T-bone).

Didn't Onstar start on 2003 Models?
EDIT: Sorry didn't see the post above mine
2002 TL-S did not have Onstar, so their would not be an antenna.

My boy has a 2002 TL-S it has 99tl taillights 99 interior type s shift knob 3.2 tl badges in gold and the same color as the one above...his car was stolen and recoverd and a totaled 99tlp was purchased for parts...go figure.
Its a type-s just look at the leather seats and steering wheel (these are harder to replace then the rest of the stuff missing or replaced). Some1 just probably swapped out the tails, headrest, and debadged the type-s badage before it was traded in. Some1 I know traded HU and tails before his dad traded in his 02TL on his 00TL.
This is a true Type-S. The car was most likely a stolen recovery, and was repaired with any used parts the guy could find. Hence, the TL-P headrests and taillights. Someone might have just ripped off the Type-S badge. The 2002 navi cars will not have an antenna on the rear because they did not come with onstar. That was offered in 2003 only.

Its a hybrid a car that was put together from general TL parts after it was stolen and stripped or wrecked or something. The Car Fax proves its a TLS no doubting that.

On the Type S doesn't the door panels also have preforated Leather?? I mean why dont' we get a pic of that and see if that matches? Just a thought.

Its a 2002 TL-S with Navi, (Aegean BLue Pearl, Guages, perforated interior) and 99-01 tails, headrests, and badging.
Vehicle info obtained by running VIN through a manufacturer's (e.g. Acura) website VIN check isn't always accurate--when I inputted the VIN from my '03 Yukon XL in GMC's website, it spit out that my vehicle was a '03 Denali XL, which is essentially a slightly more luxurious YXL. When I called about it, the rep said that they modified the VIN database essentially for sake of simplicity when it came to "identifying" model type for web registration purposes. IOW--although they could have broke down a VIN down to the last bit of detail, they chose not to for online purposes (e.g., registering your vehicle on the web for info stuff).
Having said all that, the car in question may very well be a TL-S, but as I stated in the example above, info obtained by plugging a VIN into a manufacturer's website VIN search engine should be taken with a slight grain of salt.
