Type S Non Nav. Interior Pics

Hello guys,
I'm planning to get a type S in the next 3 to 5 weeks. I'm still debating whether to get Navigation system with it. To me it's a nice toy..but I can do without just because I rarely travel to places that I havent already gone before (so much for varieties huh? hehe). Anyways...I've seen the actual cockpit of type S with nav....not sure how the non-nav's look. So...if anyone could help me...please post pics of the interior (center instrument panel) of a Type S without navigation system. Any help will be much much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

IMHO, pass on the Nav system. It's fantastic, its wonderful, its cool - but its also $2,000 - I bought my 40" HDTV for $2,000.

I don't care about price at all! I loved to lavish on cars, but the extra weight of the Nav is just too much. 100lb!

Yeah, but your HDTV can't reroute you when they unexpectedly close a highway on the way to the airport (happened to me this evening).

To get Nav or not, it's a personal preference. It also depends on where you go and what you need form the Nav. Over the years when I had my old Civic, I can't count how many times I wished I had a Nav in the car (when I needed direction or to find places.) Finally I've got it now. $2K is not cheap, but I think it's a good investment that will help me in the many the years ahead.

You're right Oracion...its really a personal choice and how much use you can get out of it. I really like it and stuff....but here's my story. The TL itself is streching my budget already...I being a 20 year old college student. I could get a regular TL w/ nagivation...but I figure...I would rather much have a Type S and sacrifice the navigation system. I would much rather have performance...the navigation is kind of like extra icing on a cake. I live in So CA...roads arent that bad here...so its not too hard to find places. Plus I usually go to places I've gone to before. If for far trips...I can always plan ahead and just get directions off of mapquest.com. So...thats the way I see it. Nevertheless...I appreciate your time to post your opinion...I do value that. Thanks to everyone else too. I'll keep you guys posted on which one I get...wish me luck hehe

Plus the NAVI makes the interior look so good. I'm going to wait until 03' model to see if they integrate the trip/mpg/etc computer in the NAVI like they did on the MDX.

I only have 1 regret when it comes to my TL.

I WISH I GOT THE NAVI! I WISH I GOT THE NAVI! I WISH I GOT THE NAVI!

I said it 3 times just in case you missed it the first 2 times.

How come your leather looks lighter than mine? Is it because of the flash of the camera? Anyways I like the lighter color better.

NBP, sell your TL to azndrgnkid and you can turn around and buy one with the NAV. See, problem solved! What would you guys do without me?

But really, I love my NAV... eventhough I haven't seen it in 3 weeks. In the 2.5 months of having my TL-S, I actually used it quite often... often enough for me to feel like I made the right investment. I guess the point is, get the NAV if you can becasue if you don't, you will never know if you would actually get any use out of it.

I took the picts in the sun, but my interior does seem more dark gray than black - at least the seats.

Regarding Nav, I'll offer this again - if it were a $500 option, its a no brainer. At $2,000, its a damn expensive toy that I would seldom use. I don't need to spend $2,000 to impress my friends - my HDTV can do that just fine :-)

Also consider that nav system prices are dropping like a rock, Clarion and Alpine have similar units for $1,000 that also play tunes.

Its just not worth the two grand! IMHO :-)

I totally agree with you...I'm think the same thing. If it comes down to it later....that I want one...I'll just add one through Alpine or Clarion. I believe the Type S uses Alpine also...so its not like it anything different.
