Lightbulb Type-S headers?

Does anyone know for sure if the CL/TL type-s headers will increase hp and torque on a non type-s CL/TL?...if so how much?

Are you talking about the Comptech headers?, cuz I know the Comptech headers make 18hp for the TL-P...I'm talking about the OEM TL-S headers on a TL-P, how much HP would that make?..I know that the TL-S OEM headers flow more air than the TL-P OEM headers, just trying to find out how much hp difference it would make. Anyone know for sure?

I believe it's the exact same header.. Why waste money on another factory part? Get Comptech!

I thought they were different, are you guys sure they're the same? If anything I'll wait until the Greddy headers are available, should be better quality and price than Comptech. Thanks for the info.

How much are the CompTech and Greddy headers that you are referring to?

I know shi$ about the internal workings of a car, but it would be pretty cool to increase HP on a TLP. Would reduce the regret of not getting a TLS.

What's wrong with the quality of the Comptech header? They're expensive as hell, but they're beautifully constructed and they work

If i have a typeS i'll get the comptech header for extre 30hp.So i think is not worth it to pay the same price for my TL-P for that 18hp .But that's my own opinion.

GReddy and Comptech headers should do about the same increase in torque as well as hp. It's just that GReddy headers won't be insanely overpriced. I personally would wait for the GReddy headers and the dyno for them. Just like people said, no point in wasting money to buy OEM headers when you can get an aftermarket header.

Well if you go back in history, they headers were made for the TL-P (accord) for that price and a gain of approx. 18hp. Then when the type S came out, they install the same headers and they got a gain of 32hp, it was the same old design. They just happen to get more HP of it the type S. So since is the same header the price did not change. That is the history

There is nothing wrong with the quality of the Comptech headers, but for $1100 I would expect something alot better than what they offer with alot more HP. The Greddy will probably be half that price and the same quality, well worth it. I got a response back from Greddy today about the headers, they said that they are still doing research on the current Accord V6 headers prototype and will release them soon...when exactly?, who knows. Anyway I guess I'll just be patient and wait.

Stock -> Exhaust Manifolds, not headers.

Headers have a tubular design, manifolds are more like runners that eventually merge together like the intake manifold. The longer tubes on the headers increase exhaust scavenging and resonance to add extra power.

Lastly, Greddy has listed the V6 headers on their site for 2 years now..... hmm.... coming out soon?! Nah,.. I wouldn't bet on that.

Wink

Companies just drag when it comes to a new product they're coming out with. If you've waited 2 years like you said, I'm pretty sure you can probably wait a couple more months (hopefully)
