AEM or INJEN

I'm looking to get the intake in a couple of days. I was wondering should i get the AEM or INJEN. Which has more pwer than the other. I see that the AEM is 2.75 inches for the 99 and the injen is 3 inches, does that make a difference at all. Most importantly which is louder, i want a nice but not too loud sound. Also are they both perfect fits, i dont want to have to start cutting 2 inches here and there. And will the bypass valve work on the injen? Thanks for your help.

What's up Bigman! I like the AEM myself but I'm biased. The extra .25" will allow a little more airflow but I don't know how much added HP that airflow is going to cause (it also might cause an increase in noise). My AEM fit perfectly, my friend and I had it installed in a 1/2 hour. IMO I think you'd be happy with either one.

I've had both (AEM on my 2000 TL and Injen on my current 2002 TL-S) and the Injen fits better than the AEM did, but both are quality pieces.

The bypass valve will work on either intake.

There isn't much difference between the AEM CAI and Injen intake. If you really think about it, it's all about the filter. Yeah, if the piping is bigger, you get more airflow, but AEM is priced at a much higher price because it says "AEM" on it. Just get the Injen and just swap on a K&N filter ** Save money ** But I personally like the AEM, just b/c I think it sounds a lot louder than the Injen, but hey*~it's your car and it's up too you. Happy Hunting

AEM and Injen both sound almost identical, but I like the sound of the AEM better than the Injen. A little louder but not too loud. Think of it as a Ferrari engine. Nice and smooth.
