I'm a big fan of turbochargers. Curious, how would they do the plumbing ? twin ?

the only one I heard of was a custom T3/T4 setup in a CLS 6 speed. IT was making something like 3230 whp on ~6 psi...might be a little too much for the TLS auto tranny though. It was a single obviously so the header musta been pretty funky looking.

3230 whp...thats alot!:wow: It was actually 340whp with the intake system and around 365 whp with the exhaust system removed. it was running 6.5 psi and ran a 12.9 @112 (i think).

B!tchslap the guy that told you about the turbos for the TLS because only a custom turbo was built for 1 cls.

There is not a production turbo kit...
If you guys are interested in the turbo details, go to the CL site and do a search. One guy had one for awhile that was custom built, and I believe it was a 't' series, and he sold it to another member there...
You can also find boat-loads of stuff on the 3.5L upgraded car as well as a few with the new Comptech s/c...
Good luck!

not sure what the internals of the engine can handle, but a T3/T4 is really not a hige turbo for a 3.2 liter. It was spooled by about 2500 RPM. DSM use those in their 2.0 liters.

Comptech has not yet released the Supercharger for the auto CL/TL yet. Rumor has it they may do so in the next few weeks... we'll see.

So for now, there's nothing in production. You can either make a Turbo like All-Motor did for his CLS-6, or wait for the Supercharger.

I was referring to the 3230 whp. LOL

Agreed Ray, that turbo isn't too big. I think that a 300-350 range would be ok for the engine insides. Don't know if a TL tranny can handle it.
Those DSM 2.0s are pretty fun to play with, we use to crank those upwards of 18-20 psi ('91 GSX).

Dang ... it would be so cool to have twin turbo in TL-S ... just like the S4.

single turbo cars will make more hp, but won't have the low end response of a car like the S4 with 2 turbos that areconnected to a different 3 cylinders. That guy in the CLS with the T3/T4 was making way more wheel hp than an S4. He was making about the whp an S4 makes with slighly larger turbos. But those kits cost about $6 for an S4 and cost about another $k to install since the whole engine has to be pulled for a turbo swap. Many components have to be changed.

Would be nice to have 350HP in a TL, but that tranny that can barely handle 260HP would be toast. Not for me.

The tranny can handle a lot more then 260hp. Comptech has had a supercharger in their automatic CL for about 8-9 months now with no problems.

Keep in mind the tranny issue is a problem with some trannies. Overall the Acura transmissions can handle a lot of power. And for those who are nervous Comptech will also be releasing a tranny cooler.

8-9 months is good, but what about 2 years from now with all that torque smashing against that tranny?
