Man, that's pretty cool, but looks like the quality is not up to par with the HKS Accord V6 turbo kit by Prototype Racing. And for $7k, you'd think they wouldn't have to use second-hand parts from the Conquest and Eclipse.

I would love to hear more about his setup. Hope his tranny holds up.

Does he post here?

Yeah, I've talked to speedcraft before... They're in the Jacksonville area. That's about 5 hours from me.

Vincent, the Turbo cost $5,800 not 7 grand... and like Diplo said, if you've got hookups to some parts that are OEM/Aftermarket, and not Custom, then it'll turn out cheaper that way.

Also, HKS never said how much they'd charge for their kit... (coulda been more? who knows)

Seeing as a Type S does about 14.0's - 14.2's with i/h/e (around 300 hp @ crank)

I roughly guess... maybe 13.8's with decent traction. If he had better gearing I would say 13.5's.

As a rough guide, he's got a higher power/weight ratio than a Supra Turbo.

I thought a CL Type-S ran the 1/4 mile in 14.8 seconds.

With this Turbo the car can turn high 13's in the quarter I'm pretty sure. Modded CL-S's do low 14's, and they only put sub 300 hp at the crank. This car's at 340 hp at the crank.

Well, I doubt the stock trany can hold that much power... At least not for long...

Again, we don't know if there are any turbo legs.

Same Tranny as the CL Type S and that reaches 300 at the crank with just bolton's... you would think that OEM would at least account for SOME breathing room. 260 to 340 hp...

I agree, and you do not have to worry about cooling down the tubro after you drive it hard.

I agree as well... the maintenance or lack thereof I should say on a SC is nice, but damn you gotta love a blow of valve guys! and the FMIC!

If Comptech makes the supercharger that is similar to Vortech style with the driveshaft across the engine, you can install a BOV too. It will basically have the same effect on perfect and SOUND pppssffff.

Well, we will see how it goes... I sure hope this works out... So that I know I can turbo my TL and kick some ass. Well, but the car is not gonna handle that well after all.

Please note that I am not trying to bash the TL or his car. All I am saying is that I doubt this is a really good idea after all, but would love to know about the result. The TL is really just a family sedan with no so good weight distribution and a FF setup.

Hey guys, not to ruin it, but I've never seen this guy around town. I live in Jax and work for the OTHER speed shop here. I know 99% of all the TL owners in town. Who is this guy, where are the pics, what color is your car, what mods............

Kenny,
Sorry dude but I haven't heard anything about this car ever, when you're on their site the Turbo CRX is mine.......so I know these guys pretty well........

Well NSX4Door,
He doesn't necessarily live in the Jacksonville area, he just got his stuff done by Speedcraft. I really haven't talked to him at all. He does have a few posts here too... I looked him up.
