Why would you tune a stock car?

There is nothing to tune on the stock N/A TL. Honda engine in this car is already extremely efficient. Headers are about the only bolt-on that nets you the 20+ HP gain. There is no point in tuning anything on those cars until you have FI or running a 100+ shot of N2O.

I think the op is coming from the assumption that cars from the factory are tuned to run on the richer side AFR. This is for the most part true but from what I know (forgive me if I'm wrong), Honda's aren't tuned as rich as compared to the other vehicles. they tend to have a higher compression and a slightly leaner AFR. There is possibly some HP to be gained from leaning out the mixture but I wouldnt waste your time. the gains will be MINIMAL at best and will be just barely noticeable. the real gains are to be had with IHE, along with other modifications, and complemented with a nice tune. Good day!

Why not? There is more to tuning than getting a peak number on a dyno (unless that is all you are looking for.

Sure there is. A good tune would smooth out the power curve and make driveability much nicer. Having said that there isnt a good tuning solution for the 2g

You need to search a little bit. You will find there isnt a way to tune these cars. The ECU cant be tuned. You need a full standalone to do it.
