I was chillin with my boy today and he has a 2005 TSX and his stock stereo system is just insanely good IMO. Why is it a car thats sub 30k has a stereo that blows ours away? Its sad that our stereo has only 4 speakers and a sub when theirs has 8. Is there anyway to add tweeters or anything to our system?

 

There's something wrong with your Bose system, then. I've had 3 TSX loaner cars for a total of 1 month and my TL's system is vastly superior. Unless you're into muddy bass and sheer volume, the TSX system sucks. The TSX system lacks clarity and sounds hollow - it's not the full and rich sound the TL's Bose system is capable of.

BTW a lot of people here will bash the TL's Bose system simply because they hate Bose. But a couple of years ago Edmunds.com did a top 10 list of best sound systems under $30,000 - and the TL's system was 7. They said "It has five speakers but plays like it has double that" or something.

 

Is there a way the dealer can fix it...it doesnt seem to get loud enough and just doesnt give that immensed in audio feeling. IDK how to describe, but I understand the equalizer is behind the dash, is that true?

 

Well when I bought my TL in March with 33k miles, the Bose speakers just didn't sound good. They would sound distorted when it was cool outside and it just pissed me off because I like Bose personally.

So I took it to the dealer and of course, they couldn't replicate the distortion and all was fine. I had to fight them for a month before they admitted there was something wrong. They replaced the amplifier, but the problem was still there. So they replaced the equalizer. Problem was still there. They replaced the headunit. Problem remained. Finally they pretty much said that was all they could do... so I called ACS and had a district rep meet me at the dealer. He listened to the sound system and said "I'm not impressed with this quality. I'm going to order them to replace all speakers." and so they replaced all of them with new Bose speakers and wow what a difference! I love the sound system now - the system, the xenons, and the engine have been the only good thing about this car.

EDIT: The dealer told me the speakers are about $100 each, so it's not going to be easy to get them to do it. Call ACS and ask what you should do.
