trying to replace rotors - cant remove caliper HELP!
ok so im trying to remove the two nuts that hold the cailper but the WONT budge. i sprayed with wd-40. i used so much force that the socket wrench bent. im going to home depot to get a new socket wrench. i wasnt using the 10mm metric socket, from my set i just used one that fit. could this be the issue?! can anybody give any opinions?!

Sounds like a frozen bolt. It happenned to 1 of my calipers and had to take it to the shop to get it out. They used a special tool to get the bolt out since it was already stripped. Sucks.

big wrench
Make sure you are using a nice large lever. My caliper bolts are 17mm front and 14mm rear. Buy good Craftsman sockets, 6pt, not 12pt, and 1/2" drive, with a 18" handle. Those bolts get damn hot on the long highway runs and will be stubborn. Then, when you put them back, use some Anti-Seize compound. Also use it on the Philips screws that hold the rotors in place. Use plenty, it will make your future life happier than your present life.

are you trying to take off the caliper bolts or the caliper mount bolts? the caliper bolts are 14mm and the mounts are 17mm. if you are just changing the pads take off the 14mm (they will or should be a lot easier to break loose than the mount bolts) but if your cutting or replacing the rotors you have to take off both. using a pipe or your jack handle should do the trick in either case as mentioned abouve
