It's pretty easy to inspect the axle boots. Like bitemeeh said, take a look at the rubber boots, and make sure they are not torn or anything. If you see grease all over the area, then it probably is torn and spitting out the grease everywhere.

I can vouch for Cross/dimpled drilled from Irotors.com too! I had driven more than 65k miles and they are still running fine. If you are sick of warped rotors, go with aftermarket rotors and pads for sure. Here are some pics of my irotors.
