that your car is not having a misfire? how many miles you got? air filter clogged or dirty, maybe something got stuck in the intake like a plastic bag?

doesn't a faulty O2 sensor trigger a check engine light? My car seems to be running sluggish as well. It used to pickup way faster when i first got it. I've already checked all the fluids, used fuel injector, checked air filter, changed plugs and it hardly keeps up with my friend's 99TL.

my o2 sensor went out yesterday, VSA/check engine lights came on, car shifted harder than normal, ran very sluggish. I thought it was the tranny again. The multiple tests relealed it was the o2 sensor

Anything and everything.

Insufficient air intake, clogged injectors, a problem causing a timing retard, bad fuel, high humidity weather, etc, etc, etc.. and most importantly, your own perception of the speed.

Sometimes you think it's gotten slow, but in truth, it's still the same. It just feels slower to you because you're used to it. I go through this like everyday. That's why I kept on modding.

Rest assured, if there was a problem with the car, the check engine light would most likely tell you that there is a problem.

My TL feels horribly slow as well, and not just in 1st gear. I'm not sure what is wrong. It is so bad that I wonder if all 6 cylinders are working.

To reiterate what Pure Adrenaline said, with today's modern cars, even the slightest hiccup will cause a CEL. If the lights not on, it's probably your imagination.

Jeez, not tightening the gas cap will throw a CEL.

Take all the coils out and test them. One of mine was misfiring intermitently without throwing a code.

How do you test each coil? Just put one in at a time and start the car?

No, you need to go and buy (or borrow) a good one and swap it out with each one, driving the car for a bit to see if it makes any improvement.

How?

I mean, I'm half joking about my TL, but my first car, a used '88 Nissan Pulsar NX, took me around for YEARS - with quite high RPMs but just incredible gas mileage - and it was after I had passed it on to my brother that one of his mechanics told him one out of the four cylinders wasn't working.
