trouble playing burned cd's
i have a 2000 TL w/navi
its the stock acura bose system, and it won't play any burned cd's
i tried different brands and also change the speed to slowest.
Does any one know what else to do about it?

If you have tried different brands, and it still doesnt work id recomend looking into a aftermarket HU or a 02+ 6 disk indash oem HU.

I've had a progressive failure on cd-rs. Used to play fine when I first got the car in Oct 2000 (2001 model). Then certain brands didn't work. Now nothing except pressed CDs work.
I think the laser gets misaligned..and since cd-rs have drift in the tracks, it just can't compensate.

I tried all the tricks - different brands, burning at different speeds, etc - but in the end just bite the bullet and get a new HU. Pretty much any head unit you buy is better than our stock one, the only thing you have to worry about is losing the navi voice (unless you hook it up to the new HU - search the forums).
I put in a Pioneer DEH-8500MP and only regret not getting rid of the stock head unit sooner, and don't miss the navi voice at all. Actually, I regret the 8500MP since the sliding face plate is known to break (mine broke once, after having it less than a year), but I think pretty much anything you put it beats waiting 1min for tracks to change.

You should try Maxell brand. Its in a red and gold wrapping at Wal-Mart or Target. Those the only ones I have no problems with.
