CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME OUT, I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM, plz help

hi guys i bought a 2000 acura 3.2 TL about an year ago from a private guy. and everything was ok till last couple of weeks. last week i stopped at a red light and when it turned green i hit the gas pedal and the car just wouldnt move. like u knw whn you have the car in neutral and u hit gas the rpm thing goes up to 4 or 5 but the car dont move. well thats what was happening , the rpm went to 4 or 5 n the car moved barely a little bit. so i hit the gas all the way and thn it moved but the most i could go was at the speed of 40. so i came home and next day everything thing was ok but like evry 4 or 5 days this happens but not tht much, just a little. and other problem is tht like u knw how whn u hit gas n the car goes smoothly , well sumtimes whn i hit gas the car starts to speed up like frm 20 to 30 but thn it starts to studder(starts jerkin a lil) so i hit the gas a little bit more and it runs smootly after that. i went to get the car checked out today and the guy said that i have a big transmission problem, n he was saying that it would cost me about 2 grand. so i called acura today and asked about warranty n they said that the base warranty is only 4 years or 50 K miles and i have 54K miles. i read in this website about the recall n the transmission problems. so i asked acura ppl about that and thy said tht if there was a prob thy would notify me by mail. but im saying tht i bought the car frm a private guy year ago so maybe thy donno tht i own this car now. and the guy who i bought the car frm didnt tell me anything about the warranty. so is there any way i can find out if the car has extended warranty? but i saw the carfax report and it says that the car was in a big accident be4 so any1 think that the transmission problem mite b coz of this? because i havent had any problem till now. and for recall thing what do i do? coz the dealership said thy would have let me knw if there was a problem but how the hell thy gonna knw if i have a problem or not. can any1 plzzz help me out and tell me what to do n is this y the cars were being recalled? the car studder whn i hit the gas sumtimes n if i hit it harder thn it doesnt & sumtimes it doesnt pick up like it should, like the rpm thing goes up to 4 or 5 and THN the car goes at the speed or 40 and jerks a lot. pluz the gas pedal doesnt feel smooth like it did before, it feel kinda rough. CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME OUT N TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION, IT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

 

You will most likely need a new transmission.

It should be covered under warranty which they extended to 100,000 miles or 7 years for 2000-2004 tl's i am pretty sure. Unless they can diagnose the problem as being unrelated to the recall problem, then you might need a new one.

My legend stuttered when I would hit the gas, but they just replaced the clutch or something, still cost a good bit.

You can give them your VIN and they can tell you whether the car has been in for transmission problems before.

Just go in and tell them that the transmission is fucked up and you want it changed now. I mean, what are they going to say, NO?

 

Take it to the dealer now! Your car IS covered under the volentary warr extension AND the recall.

 

Go to owner link and register. Click on this link and it will take you there https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura when u register and login it will most likely show you that your car is covered by the 7yr 100k miles warranty on the transmission. If it does, print it out and take your car to the dealer and they should replace it for you and you should not pay a penny. The accident did nothing to that tranny. It is just a f**ed up POS tranny that acura installed in these good cars to taint their name. I don't know they choose to that. A**holes. hey guys thankx a lot for your help, i will take it to dealer first thing monday. but yo yield2s what do u mean that my car IS covered under the volentary warr extension AND the recall? coz whn i called acura 2day thy said dat if there was a recall on my car thy would have sent me a letter. plz explain if u can bout that n what you said about covered under the volentary warr extension.

your car is covered under the warranty, they just havent sent the letters out to any one yet. the recall just came out

so thy gonna cover the problem even if its not the problem in recall rite? coz it says tht thy extended the warranty on the transmissions . so thy would take care of any problem in transmission rite?

hey i went to a service place and got it diagnosed. he said that it has internal probelm and on the bill it says TRANS OVERHAUL. any1 got any ideas wut that means if it would be coverd by tht extended warranty on trans or in recall

Man stay out of the Ammco places just take it the the dealer! They will pull it out and put a refub. one in in half a day.

And who was right here? I was, I was.

 

Quit stressing urself out and just take it to the dealer. They will replace it no questions asked. Just get u some rest and take it to the dealer tomorrow or whenever u have time.
