transmission jumps to neutral when floored

When I floor the gas pedal very, very, very quickly, it drives until 3000RPM, then it seems to shift into neutral all by itself, and my engine jumps up to redline. however, the gearshift is still at d5 and the indicator says d5. is this normal (some protection feature) or a problem? i have a rebuilt 00 tranny so it shouldn't be defective. also, i have to try really hard for my transmission to do this as just laying on the gas doesn't cause this; i need a very quick push. please help, thanks!

if you continue beating up on your transmission, you can get this neutral shift feature to happen more reliably.

You have a rebuilt trans. From where, from when. It sounds like your trans is dying or a solenoid is shot. There is NO reflash for our ecu.

More info is needed from you

rebuilt tranny was installed by previous owner on 11/11/2006 at a independent repair center (dont know which one) at 113756 miles on the odo. as i said, this isn't a big problem, but I just want to know why it's happening.

because they didnt rebuild it properly. Is there a transferable warranty on it? You may want to get it looked at before it craps out on you completely.
