Transmission in 99 TL ??

I have a question regarding the trasmission issues that seem to be scattered throughtout this fourm....

Is the 99 TL not effected by this issue?? I know they switched transmission in 2000 to the 5-speed automatic from the 4-speed auto. Has anyone experienced problems with the 99 tranny?? Is it bulletproof ?? I called a local Acura dealer, and he said he's never done a 99 transmission, but does at least (1) 2000-2003 trasmission a week.

Can someone shed some light on this.....I know there are a lot of people who have done their homework regarding the TL.

Thanks

i have

my 99 tl's tranny started to slip when i shifted, it would like go to neutral for like a second or 2 before going to the next gear. Anyways it was on warranty when it happened and they replaced it, good thing it was warranty because it was like 6gs for a new one. well now 20,000 miles later it is starting to slip a little again sometimes, and on the old forum the acura-tl.com site, i remeber it being an issue with some of the other original TL owners too.

oh i was wondering what everyone was running on the dyno on their 99tls
i killed a 330 on the freeway last week. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha!

the warranty that every tl from 99 to 02 has,, 10 years/100k miles on only the transmission, so ur straight if ur tranny goes bad before you hit 100k.

the TCS is the traction control system.. it just gives your car better grip while turning. it only works under 30 mph, i think. but i heard that on the TL's its around 50? all it really does is gives more power to the wheel and something with the brakes while turning so your car doesnt slip ouut of control on hard turns

no its not for when ur turning, and it doesnt give more power to the wheel, all it does it cut off the fuel so u stop from spinning out, if ur at a lite and u floor it and it starts spinning it'll cut off enough fuel for u to stop spinning out and then go back to normal (in this case u loose power) thats why everyone says to turn off ur TCS when ur about to race. and yes it only works under about 30mph , definitly not 50.
