transmission
Hello people im having a problem with my acura 3.2 tl s type 02 145k miles. Just last week while driving I noticed rpm hand moves up an down at 70mph while cruising speeds? Also when I stop at light an start ed to pull off my car started a jerking motion around 30 mph? I really need some help anybody please thanks
Welcome
If you aren't familiar with the transmission issue with these cars search around here. Maybe a little more info on your symptoms? Are the rpms fluctuating slightly (a couple hundred rpms) or greater? Is the lower speed jerking just a random quick thing once in a while or all the time?

Welcome Busaracer590 !!!
Yeah, as MarcDavidoff previouly suggested......check out the many past tranny related posts concerning our 2nd Gen's problematic trannys. More info on the car's recall, tranny PM, codes and anything else to better describe the problems might help us to help you.
~ Any specific gear issues or rpm's flaring at shifting ?
~ How is the fluid's condition and level ?
~ Has the fluid ever been replaced ?

Sounds like 5 gear clutches arent holding up anymore.
May want to try putting the shifter on D4 to avoid further damage, if the problem persist then check the fluid level and condition.
The Av6 trans is a better option if nothing of the above works for you.

Yeah, but why risk wasting time with installation ........ of what may possibly be another bum tranny ?
IMO, if ya wanna really fix one of the TL's to last, check out the "AV6" donor threads. It's a bolt in replacement for our ailing 2nd Gen TL's 5 speed AT. The AV6 is a newer improved design of the older TL problematic tranny's. It come's from an '06>'07 Honda Accord V-6 and is proven more reliable.
