Question D5 flashing?

i was driving around doing the usual routine, going to school and back and doing some errands inbetween. I stopped at a red light and i just glanced around in the car and i noticed my D5 blinking.... :wow: i got scared so i switched to all the different gears. It all switches but the D5 remains flashing. You could drive at D4 and the D5 will still flash. so i parked the car and turned off the engine and restarted it after 10 minutes or so. It went away but it happened throughout the whole day. i don't know what's wrong and i got even more worried after reading all the posts about '00 trans. i don't know if it's worth taking to the dealer ...pretty far..help.

now thats a better post than the one before.

just call me anytime when you decide to take it to the dealer.

I'm pretty sure the tranny is a failure.

congratulation..you are about to get a new tranny...really, it's a good thing cuz your tranny goes "smoothly" instead of 60 to 20 slam dunk like some others. Damn I'm waiting for mine to go and the damn thing just won't die

i had the same problem about 2 weeks ago, d5 was blinking but had no slippage. I made an appointment with park avenue acura the next day and they did a tranny flush. Then it happened again during the night, so i bought it back again and they replaced the control unit and sensor assy. No problems as of yet

The problem is that he didnt buy the car at an Acura dealer.
But he's on the ext warranty though.
You still think that they'll fix it if we go to the acura dealer?

yes they should, it might just be the control unit, if there was no slippage but that might not be covered

going back to your first post, buying a car without the owners manual is not illegal in any state I know of.
