Tranny shifting too early

Something that just recently started happening. Nailing it off the line my car will not run up to redline, it shifts to second at about 6500 rpm. I'm not sure if this is a learning tranny, but it has never done this before and I love to run it up to redline on a fairly regular basis. Is this a sign of the tranny failing, or a PCM issue. Tranny works fine otherwise. I have a 2003 TL-S.

Did you have your tranny replaced recently? The new ECU that they put in the car when the tranny is replaced will lower the shift points.

hmmm.... mine doesnt even get close to 6500rpm before shifting, which sux and takes away from the whole sport shift feature.

No I haven't had my tranny replaced yet, matter of fact I haven't even taken it in yet for the "recall" which is why this bothers me, it just started all of a sudden and I don't like it!!!!
