tranny problem or not?

Ok, to describe this as easily as possible - I have been noticing a stuttering when changing lower gears, so I obviously thought my tranny was on the way out. Yesterday I was driving around and waiting for the stuter between 2 and 3rd gear and noticed by trial and error that it only stutters when changing gears if I am on the gas. If the car is about to change gears and I let off the gas and coast while it changes gears the tranny shifts gears as smooth as it should???? i replicated this several times, building up speed until the rpms showed a gear change was coming, coast - and ---smooth change to 3rd. Also when i use the manual shift it does not hasitate at all.
Is it the tranny or something else building up torque or what? I hate to get fooled into it being a tranny problem when it might be something else

when you let off the gas you reduce the friction pressures required to shift gears-and allow engagement easier-- thus hiding the problem
You can probably get on the gas hard and mask the shudder too!

Get it looked at- have the codes checked at a parts store-
are you still in warrranty- proceed to acura!
